Post-Operative Instructions
The operated eye should be protected at all times after a procedure for quick healing. Specialty Eye Care suggests the following instructions to be followed by a patient post operation:
In case of any pain, injury, decrease in vision or flashes of light, or floaters in the operated eye, contact your surgeon immediately.
- Use the eye drops and medicines as prescribed
- Avoid rubbing or squeezing your eye
- Operated eye should be protected by eye shield at night time for a week
- Avoid splashing water directly into the eye for one week
- Avoid eye makeup for one month
- Wash your hands before applying eye drops
- You can bend over, read, watch TV, and lift up to 20 lb.
